Overview

AI Case Pal is a platform for consulting candidates to practice realistic case interviews, designed by professional case coaches, with AI-powered simulations and receive high-quality, personalized feedback.

Prototype Demo

Feasibility Summary

The platform features extensive cases designed by experienced coaches, while also enables individual contributors - professional case coaches, usually ex-consultants to upload custom-designed cases, where they can define their interview style and structure, and set candidate assessment criteria. With high flexibility in case structure design, we empower coaches to contribute unique content while earning from their expertise.

Simply choose your preferred case type, industry, and difficulty level, then dive into an interactive case practice session with our AI interviewers. They adapt to your needs, offering real-time feedback, drilling specific case components, or running a full case and giving you a comprehensive performance review at the end — so you can refine your skills at your own pace. No more hassle of finding a case partner, dealing with generic feedback, spending time on case swaps with peers1, or paying for expensive coaching sessions.

By combining accessible, effective, and affordable case prep with a scalable content creation model, AI Case Pal transforms the consulting prep experience for candidates and industry professionals alike.

Customer Segments

AI Case Pal primarily targets two customer segments:

1.     Students (70% of target market)

This segment includes undergraduate and graduate students (such as MBA candidates) who are preparing for consulting interviews. Due to the highly competitive nature of consulting recruitment and the limited time available during the recruiting season, students are looking for efficient, effective ways to practice case interviews.

Customer persona: Sophia, a 26-year-old Booth MBA Student and former accountant, is now recruiting for top consulting firms with limited prior exposure to consulting work. She has landed three interviews and is focused on case practice. She follows her school's consulting club guidance, starting with self-reviewing the club’s casebook and practicing weekly with her recruiting family leader (a second-year student). She also schedules extensive case swaps with peers—each session taking 3 hours, as it involves both giving and receiving cases. She’s completed about 20 case swaps so far.

Challenges:

·       Time: Balancing recruiting with academics while dedicating substantial time on case swaps.

·       Feedback Quality: Peer feedback is often generic due to inexperience.

·       Access to Effective Practice: Second years provide better insights, but she lacks a close network to regularly request their help.

·       Cost: External 1:1 coaching, average at $200/hour, is not affordable.

2.     Industry Professionals (30% of target market)

This segment consists of experienced professionals seeking to transition into consulting. Unlike students, they typically don't have access to school consulting clubs or the structured environment where it's easier to find peers to practice with. This lack of support makes it difficult to simulate the real interview experience. Additionally, their busy work schedules limit their time to dedicate to case prep, and they often struggle to find flexible and reliable partners for case practice. Given their time constraints and limited access to high-quality prep resources, many in this segment find it challenging to adequately prepare for the rigorous case interviews that are central to consulting recruitment.

Customer Persona: David, a 32-year-old senior marketing manager at a grocery chain company, has over eight years of marketing experience and is now hoping to transition to a consulting role at MBB firms. To prepare, he meets weekly with an ex-MBB consultant for 1-hour coaching sessions and supplements his learning with online case prep platforms and YouTube tutorials. Without access to other consulting candidates, he relies on colleagues and friends for mock cases, but their unfamiliarity with consulting interviews provides little beyond basic practice. His demanding schedule, packed with meetings, deadlines, and team management, further limits his ability to practice consistently with diverse partners.

Challenges:

·       Time Constraints: Limited time for case prep due to a hectic work schedule and personal commitments.

·       Access to Practice: Struggles to simulate realistic case interviews, as he has limited access to people who are familiar with the consulting process. Weekly 1:1 coaching offers valuable insights, but he needs additional practice to improve consistency and build confidence.

·       Budget Constraint: Although he can afford coaching, budget constraints limit how much he can rely on it for practice.

Market Sizing

The $10 per case pricing is determined based on survey results and competitor analysis, ensuring it aligns with market standard and expectations. This market size analysis positions the AI platform to generate substantial revenue based on even modest capture rates.

Competitor Analysis

Our key differentiator:

·      Dynamic, Human-like Case Simulation: Our AI is specifically trained to provide the most authentic and dynamic case interview preparation experience possible by replicating the flow of a real case interview. What sets us apart is our focus on the dynamic nature of case interviews, where knowing when to drive the case, ask probing questions, pivot, mimicking the adaptability and pressure of a human interviewer.

·      Scalable Content Creation Model: We enable individual case coaches, often experienced ex-consultants, to contribute their own custom-designed cases and earn a share of the revenue. Unlike platforms with static, pre-built content, our system allows contributors to define every aspect of their cases, including the interview style, structure, flow, and candidate assessment criteria. This flexibility allows candidates to access a richer pool of case practice tailored by industry experts and experience a diverse range of case types and perspectives, reflecting real-world consulting interview variability.

·      High-quality Feedback: Unlike traditional AI models that offer praise without substance or generic feedback, our AI gives personalized, critical insights. It identifies what went wrong, explains why it was wrong, and offers actionable steps for improvement. This enables candidates to refine their responses with precision, focusing on closing the gap between their current and ideal performance, teaching them how to progress from "bad" or “average” to "good" answers using structured frameworks.

·      Real-World Pressure Simulation: Our AI has a “Stress Test Mode” which replicates the pressure of live case interviews, simulating the experience of being "pressure-tested" by a human-like entity. Unlike other interview AI tools that maintain a nice or overly supportive tone, our AI challenges candidates in a more realistic way, pushing them to think critically and perform under pressure—just like in a true consulting interview. This key feature sets our product apart in helping candidates build resilience and preparing for the interview's true intensity.

·      Expertise-Driven Model: Our AI is trained by professional consultants with extensive hands-on experience in practicing and conducting consulting interviews. They bring in-depth knowledge of every aspect of the process, ensuring the AI delivers high-quality, context-specific feedback and a human-centered experience. This makes our platform uniquely tailored to case interview preparation.
